The Bioloid beginner kit is a simple introductory kit for any robotics enthusiast. It contains a control unit, 4 servos, a sensor unit and various components to create the robots structure. The robot components go together in a similar fashion to those of a Meccano set with small nuts and bolts. The software provided is also very easy to work with and can yield results quickly and easily.
It is a great way to quickly build any simple robot and see your creation come to life however the kits are not cheap. The components are very expensive because they are very accurate and easy to use which makes things very easy for the person creating the robot. So if you can afford to splash out on one of these kits go for it, it makes things much easier.
I'm going to show you the results of the tutorials supplied with the beginner kit and also try to show the simplicity of the software provided. After that I will be trying to make more complex designs and trying to interface the control unit with normal motors and servos.
To start things off here are the tutorials for the beginner kit:
The Autonomous Robot will be coming soon, it will be completely controlled by a PIC16f627 micro-controller. Plans are to make a line following and an obstacle avoidance robot. The base of the robot will be an RC car and there will be two H bridges to control the motor direction. Speed will be controlled by sending a pulses from the microchip to the motor.
