We've had some success with a new design for the motor controller which is much simpler than the original. This design only uses an 8 channel ALLEGRO MICROSYSTEMS driver source, a few BD135 NPN Transistors and a few 125 ohm resistors.
To control each motor takes 2 channels of the driver source, two resistors and two transistors which means the final design will be a very simple build.
Unlike the original design, which had the PIC microcontroller built into the board, this design will simply be a controller board with eight inputs and outputs for four motors. The PIC will then be created on it's own board which should make future robots easier to build by just rearranging these boards.
Diagrams and pictures should be following soon,
All the best,
